The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Baum Lyman

Lyman Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American writer best known for his work, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," and its 13 sequels that depict fantastical characters and situations in the magical land of Oz. Baum had a passion for the theatre and aspired to see his work adapted to the stage and for film. His dream came true with the 1939 film version of his book, which became a classic. Beyond his Oz series, he wrote many other novels, short stories, and scripts. Interestingly, some of his works featured gadgets such as television, mobile phones, and computers, even before they were invented.
