Shuma Raha is an award-winning short story writer and the author of two critically acclaimed works of fiction -- The Love Song of Maya K and Other Stories and The Swap, a novel. Earlier, she worked in senior editorial roles at The Telegraph and The Times of India. While pursuing her career as a writer of fiction, Shuma continues to practise journalism and contributes columns to several publications on issues of gender, media, social justice, and culture. Shuma is also a literary translator. Her English translation of the Bangla novel Haate Bajaare by Bonophul has been published by Sahitya Akademi.
