Sarmistha Gupta

Sarmistha Dutta Gupta is a literary translator and an active voice within the women’s movement. Her work is rooted in a strong commitment to social justice, gender equity, and the ethical responsibilities of language and representation. Through translation, she engages closely with texts that foreground women’s experiences, marginalised voices, and lived realities often absent from the mainstream literary canon. As both a translator and activist, Sarmistha Gupta approaches literature as a site of dialogue and intervention, where words serve not only to bridge languages but also to challenge structures of silence and exclusion.
