Sarbani Putatunda
Dr Sarbani Putatunda is an academic, editor, and translator of Bengali literature into English. She taught English at East Calcutta Girls’ College, Kolkata, and her scholarly work includes research and published academic papers, with a particular interest in Shakespeare studies. Alongside her academic writing, she has authored and edited critical works and has been actively involved in literary translation. Her translations include Bengali nonfiction and travel writing, helping make significant regional texts accessible to a wider English-reading audience. Her work reflects sustained engagement with both critical writing and translation practice, balancing scholarly rigour with clarity and readability for contemporary readers.
