Qazi Abdul Ghaffar, renowned author of Laila Ke Khutuut and Majnoon Ki Diary, began his career as a journalist in Muradabad, where he received his primary education before moving to Aligarh for higher studies. He worked with Hamdard in Delhi under Maulana Muhammad Ali, later launching the Jamhoor in Calcutta and Paigham in Hyderabad.
A versatile writer, Qazi authored biographies of prominent figures like Jamaluddin, Ajmal Khan, and Abul Kalam Azad. He spent his later years as secretary of Anjuman-e-Taraqqi Urdu and editor of Hamaari Zabaan. Known for his refined lifestyle and eloquent prose, his writings often featured thoughtfully chosen words, a simple style, and poetic touches, with essays frequently framed by couplets.
