Martin studied Political Science at Syracuse University in USA. He is an active
member of the Hare Krishna movement (ISKCON) since 1982, having
performed various services. At present, he is the executive director of Hindu Forum of Belgium, working to get Hinduism recognized in Belgium.
He is also the founder and director of the Museum of Sacred Art (MOSA) Foundation, dedicated to promoting Indian spiritual art as well as the art of the Hare Krishna movement. His passion for art comes from his lineage, since he is the son of renowned artist José Gurvich (1927–1974) and the founder of the José Gurvich Foundation in Montevideo, Uruguay.
