C.B. Karki (1929–2018) did his masters in English from Vikram University, Ujjain. He had taught English literature for a number of years in several colleges of Madhya Pradesh and retired as Principal of a post-graduate college. He also had worked as Deputy Director, Directorate of Higher Education of Madhya Pradesh and as Consultant at Indira Gandhi National Open University (Bhopal Regional Office). He had written several books, including textbooks in English, and is well-known for his English translation of the Hindi novel 'Chitralekha' by Bhagwati Charan Verma.
