Anthony Gaston

Anthony J. Gaston has been studying Indian wildlife, particularly birds, since 1969. His research journey in this field led him to pursue a Ph.D. at Oxford University. He has had an extensive career as a Senior Research Scientist with the Government of Canada, where he focused on the ecology of the Arctic and the Pacific-coast archipelago of Haida Gwaii. One of his notable contributions includes heading the initial 1980 and 1983 Himachal Wildlife Project, which involved international teams of scientists. Through his research and contributions, he played a significant role in supporting the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP). Anthony J. Gaston's work has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of Indian wildlife, particularly in the realm of avian ecology.
