Anil Dey, an engineer by profession, has dedicated over 60 years of his life to the study of temples in Odisha, a pursuit that he is deeply passionate about. This book represents the culmination of his extensive and painstaking research in this field. Beyond his scholarly endeavors, Mr. Dey is an enthusiastic traveler, especially in the Himalayas, and has authored five travelogues along with numerous short stories and articles. He has also written a book on Konark in the Odia language. Photography has been a lifelong passion for him, and he is an accomplished photographer.
In recent times, Mr. Dey has been actively involved in promoting the Kalinga Heritage Preservation Trust (KHPT), with the ambitious goal of constructing a Global Sun Temple in Konark.
G. C. Mitra holds the designation of MIStructE (UK) and holds a doctoral degree from IIT. His professional career includes serving as the Engineering-in-Chief and Secretary of Works for the government of Odisha. He has also held the position of Professor-in-Charge at IIT Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar Campus, and was Vice President of the Indian Road Congress. In recognition of his contributions, he has been honored with the Padmashree award by the President of India.
