Alokojjal Banerjee is an English translator of Bengali literature. He is the translator of Vignettes en Route, the English version of Jajabor’s Bengali work Drishtipaat, a travelogue-like narrative set in 1942 Delhi and structured through letters to a friend.
Through this translation, Banerjee helps bring a distinctive Bengali voice and period context to a wider English-reading audience, retaining the text’s reflective tone and its layered engagement with the city’s history, everyday life, and political moment
