Morarji Desai, India’s first non-Congress Prime Minister, was a statesman who strode tall and erect on the vast stage of India’s political life for the major part of the 99 years that he lived. The only recipient of the highest civilian honour from both India and Pakistan – Bharat Ratna and Nishan-e-Pakistan – he strived during his tenure in office to bring about lasting peace between these two countries.

The book captures the quintessence of this great leader through the various phases of his long and distinguished career. The book also gives the reader glimpses of certain aspects of his personality that were not common knowledge, providing an insight into the true persona of a statesman and stalwart who was a true Gandhian till the end of his days.
