Author and photographer, Ganesh Saili was born and brought up in the hills of Mussoorie where he lives. For four decades he has researched and trekked the Himalayas capturing in words and film the all-defying beauty of these regions. Numerous periodicals, journals and twenty books, (some translated into twenty-four languages) are a testimony to a love for his roots. After his widely acclaimed Mussoorie Medley, Gupp and Gossip from the Hills reveals a hill-resort that is not yet another Peyton Place, but it slowly seems to be getting there. Settled atop a spur on Landour’s Mullingar hill, he has had the good fortune of living in the mountains, seeing the changing facets of the hill resort. He is a close friend of Ruskin Bond for four decades and more. He has taught English and American literature at Mussoorie’s post-graduate college.
